Tasks
Support and help guide the development of co-management agreements between the Sanjiangyuan National Nature Reserve (SNNR) and local communities in the selected blocks of the Nature Reserve, clarifying and agreeing basic principles and rules as well as roles and responsibilities of each partner.
Provide guidance in the development of management plans and related zoning for the selected blocks of the SNNR.
Deliver participatory management training for Qinghai PAs staff.
Provide guidance for pilot communities to set up basic principles for sustainable resource use and for environmental monitoring systems, and develop an ecological monitoring guideline (handbook).
Provide guidance for the SNNR and local communities to set up ecological monitoring systems and to collect appropriate climate change related data in the co-management area.
Provide guidance on the development of eco-compensation schemes to incentivize (and compensate) local communities in PA management and sustainable resource utilization.
Design small-scale infrastructure for wildlife/environmental monitoring and patrolling.
