Umbrella Programme to Support National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans Update and the 7th National Reports
Tasks:
Elaboration of the Papua New Guinea NBSAP (2025-2030), facilitating inclusive consultation.
Identify and prioritise gaps and inconsistencies between the existing PNG-NBSAP and the Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF).
Propose necessary institutional and policy adjustments to achieve sectoral mainstreaming, biodiversity policy alignment and coherence.
Support spatial prioritisation and action planning related to GBF/NBSAP Targets.
Evaluate gaps in institutional and technical capacities for NBSAP implementation, as well as resource requirements, and propose strategies for capacity development and resource mobilisation.
